A native New Yorker, Pastor Mark A. Collins has but one desire – to see the people of God set free under
the power of the Holy Spirit and the preached word of God.
Mark Collins was raised up in the church from birth and he learned to play the drums at a young age
and developed a passion for it. He continued on to play for his church on both the local and national level
as well as for several local area choirs.
He continuously attempted to run from the call that God had upon his life. He eventually heeded the call and
was licensed to the ministry September 1998 by his spiritual father, Rev. Mervyn L. David.
After much prayer, God pressed upon him that it was time to move. He and his wife re-located to Charlotte, NC
in May 2001. Once settled in Charlotte, he joined Sherman Memorial COGIC under the leadership of
Bishop C. E. Anderson, Sr. where he served on the ministerial staff and learned many things.
He was ordained as an elder in COGIC in September 2002.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Collins has served as Couples Ministry Leader, Sunday School Teacher
and Local Church and District Adjutant. He has also served as First Administrative Assistant at
Restoration Ministries COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Juan M. Goodson.
In prayer one day, the Lord spoke to Elder Collins that there was a “greater harvest” of souls that must be reaped. Thus, Greater Harvest Ministries was founded November 2006 in Matthews, NC. Pastor Collins
continues to till the ground and sow the seeds of the Gospel so that there will be a “greater harvest” of souls
for the kingdom of God. He and his church body are “Rebuilding Bridges…Removing Walls…Reshaping Lives…
through Jesus Christ”.
He tells all that “I’ve got my rib back” when referencing his wife of over 15 years, Danielle L. Collins who serves
as his partner in ministry and life.
